Art exhibition
KunstKlangGenuss
Since 2022, KunstKlangGenuss has been inviting artists from the region several times a year to hold month-long exhibitions in the light-filled foyer at the Royal Spa Gardens—a gathering place for art, music, visitors, and locals.
In November, Walter Angerer the Younger will present his works in the foyer of the Royal Spa Gardens. The exhibition features works characterized by the tranquility of nature, strength, and endurance, while at the same time leaving plenty of room for the viewer’s own interpretations.
Born in Bad Reichenhall in 1940, the artist is known for his versatile body of work in the fields of painting, etching, and sculpture. After completing his studies at the University of London, he devoted himself more fully to the visual arts. He has received numerous awards for his long-standing artistic work, including the City of Salzburg’s Honorary Prize for Painting, the Seeon Art Prize, and the City of Bad Reichenhall’s Culture Prize.
Color plays a central role in his paintings. Patches of color, forms, and textures combine to create expressive compositions that do not dictate everything but rather invite viewers to discover and interpret them for themselves. In addition to painting, his body of work also includes etchings and sculptures.
Works by Walter Angerer the Younger are now represented in numerous public and international collections, including the Buchheim Museum, the Messner Mountain Museum, as well as in Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, and the Vatican.
He has also had a lasting impact on the regional art scene: as a co-founder of the Bad Reichenhall Art Academy and a long-time lecturer, he is closely connected to the cultural life of his hometown.
