Lokwelt
The World of Locomotives in Freilassing
Among the exhibits on display in the historic roundhouse are high-quality locomotives from the Deutsches Museum – Verkehrsmuseum, including locomotives from the E16, E44, and E03 series, as well as a Bavarian express locomotive from 1874. The centerpiece of the layout is the turntable, which dates back to the 1920s. The “Little Locomotive World”—designed especially for children ages 6 to 12—lets visitors experience railways and technology with all their senses. Touching and listening, learning and experiencing, and the world of railway work are brought to life in a wonderfully colorful and vivid way at five stations. When the weather is nice, ICE Bobby Cars invite visitors to take a ride outdoors. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the Lokwelt Freilassing. The Lokwelt has limited wheelchair accessibility. The outdoor area and the exhibition grounds are easily accessible by wheelchair. The gallery and seminar room are accessible only via stairs; there is no elevator. An accessible restroom is available on the ground floor.
Discounts with the Staatsbad Guest Card are available exclusively through Kombiticket24.
